Sumo Wrestling has long been a tradition of the Asian people. The art of wrestling, known as Chiao-ti dates back as far as 1030 BC where it was a part of the official training for the imperial guards.

Sumo wrestling dates back in Japan to about 250 AD where it was part of the Shinto religious ceremonies (Shinto means the way of the gods).
